Canada Tourist Visa is a temporary Canadian non immigration permit that allows tourists from India to visit Canada for leisure. The Canada tourist visa, sometimes known as the Canada visitor visa or Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (TVR) is issued to any applicant who has all the required paperwork for the same. The highest duration for which you can get a visitor visa is for a total of six months.

Canada tourist visa from India is issued in 2 types

•  Single Entry Visa: This type of a visa allows you to enter Canada only ONCE during your visit. This means that if during your travel to Canada, at any point in time if you choose to leave Canada, you will require a new Visa to enter the country even if there is still time left on your original visa. There is, however, an exception to this rule. If you enter the United States of America, St. Pierre and Miquelon, then you will not require a new Visa.
• Multiple Entry Visa: This is a visa issued to allow the visitor to enter and leave Canada on multiple occasions as he pleases without filing for or obtaining a new visa within the stipulated time duration of the issuance of the visa. This multiple entry Visa may be provided for the duration of 10 years or 1 month, depending upon the date of expiry of the applicant’s passport (whichever comes earlier).

Documents required for Canada tourist visa

• Your original and accurate passport, with at least two unfilled Visa pages.
• 2 recent and identifiable passport size photographs. The photo must be taken on a white background and must have no border or filter. The photos must focus on the face. This means that at least 80% of the picture should be your face. The face should also be positioned in the center of the picture. The print of the picture has to be taken in either matte or semi matte photo paper. You must mention your name, and date of birth at the back of the photo. Also note that this photo should NOT have been used in previous visas. The photo should have been clicked within the past 3 months.
• A Proof of Employment from your current employer. You may submit your current salary slip along with the last 6 months’ as well. You will also be required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer stating that you have taken your due diligence from your end and have taken appropriate permissions to leave the country. This letter must contain all details regarding your employment, your salary and the number of days for which you are on leave.
• A proof of financial capability. This will include your bank statements for the last 6 months. This statement can NOT be only reflecting your credit column. It must reflect all the transactions that you have undertaken in the last 6 months.
• A cover letter for your Visa on the letterhead of your company.
